I really can’t believe how this year has just zipped by. My last blog was way back in March. In the meantime we have had the spectacle of the World Cup that for the briefest of moments swept up the toiling masses in the tinsel and bluster of some of the world’s finest footballers. For that moment in time we no longer concerned ourselves with the lack of service delivery, or the lack of jobs, nor the millions who watched from the sidelines as South Africans once again dug into their meagre resources and splurged on the Party that had been put on at our expense. Dear Mr. Ebrahim After two years of interaction with the City of Cape Town on this matter, I have come to the conclusion, that the City and the parties involved in the Bonteheuwel Sports Council and the alleged “ Bonteheuwel Facility Management Committee”(FMC), even after having been made aware of the fraudulent nature of the FMC and the contract that exists between the City of Cape Town and the FMC, are actively involved in a fraudulent activity as set out in the South African Law. In South Africa, fraud is defined as “the unlawful and intentional making of a misrepresentation which causes actual and or potential prejudice to another”. It was with a sense of incredulity that I read the contribution from Andre Blignault(Evil of Apartheid doesn’t justify present stupidity) in the Cape Argus Last week. The unrestrained sense of Superiority and thinly veiled racism was immediately apparent. It boggles my mind, and yet it shouldn’t surprise me, that such arrogance is publicly displayed and even celebrated as rational thought.
