Good Bye 2010
I really can’t believe how this year has just zipped by. My last blog was way back in March. In the meantime we have had the spectacle of the World Cup that for the briefest of moments swept up the toiling masses in the tinsel and bluster of some of the world’s finest footballers. For that moment in time we no longer concerned ourselves with the lack of service delivery, or the lack of jobs, nor the millions who watched from the sidelines as South Africans once again dug into their meagre resources and splurged on the Party that had been put on at our expense. And when it was all done, the Millionaires departed our shores, richer for the dollars in their bank accounts while we were left with the hangover of the Biggest Party in the world. All indications are that the worst of the Hangover is still to come, with Municipalities already pleading poverty in the wake of unfulfilled promises and skewed priorities.
